For “enfants de la patrie” and anyone who just enjoys a good crêpe, Downtown Sacramento puts on a charming celebration featuring a Waiters’ Race, generous samples from neighborhood restaurants, photo booths, music, and movie screenings. Competitors in the race gear up in bowties, aprons, and curled mustaches before balancing a platter of filled glasses and a bottle of Perrier for two quick laps around the block. Competition is fierce as the waiters sprint for the coveted title and a gift certificate to the luxurious French Laundry- rewards enough to make me rethink my career path! Vive la France!
